I woke today feeling anew. Not because I’m starting a new job or changed an old habit. Every day is a beautiful day. A new day. New because I have a chance to do it all again. A beautiful life.
So often we get caught up in the humdrum of everyday life. Waking up, fixing breakfast, going to work, coming home to cook dinner, help the kids and finally to prepare ourselves to rest for the night. Only to get up and repeat. Yes we press repeat. And repeat. And repeat. We oft times forget to enjoy life.
It’s ok to press pause once in a while. Just do it. Do it for you. Do it for your sanity. Go ahead. No one is watching. Heck, kick your shoes off and dance in a puddle of rain as you did as a child. Take a walk and stop to admire the flowers planted in a neighbor’s yard. Get up a bit early and go work out. Better yet, look in the mirror. You are wonderful. Life is amazing. Today I will enjoy just a little bit for me.
This post had to be written as I awoke with it on my mind. After speaking with a friend last night about how tired she was and never had a free moment to herself, we decided to write down a few things she could do to help alleviate those dreadful feelings she was having.
When you open your eyes each morning be THANKFUL.
Before you get out of bed and reach for that pone or any other electronic device, STRETCH to get your juices flowing.
Stop by unexpectedly and see a loved one or family member. Make a CONNECTION.
Take a mid-day walk and take in the BEAUTY around us.
TREAT yourself! We can go to the salon every week or wear couture every day. But make a point to schedule some time to just treat you.
Write down AFFIRMATIONS and stick them on your bathroom mirror. You know why? Because you are beautiful and life is amazing. We are destined to live the best life we can. We never want to get so busy making a living that we forget to make a life!
