How to have a Peaceful and Relaxing Weekend

[su_dropcap style=”simple” size=”5″]F[/su_dropcap]or many people, the weekend is the only time they have to take a break from the daily grind and rejuvenate for the following week. However, you may sometimes find your weekend being the opposite of relaxing especially if you have children or a very active social life. It is possible to balance all these things however and get your much needed rest by employing the following simple strategies:

Simple Strategies

1. Switch off your mobile phone. The simple act of switching off your mobile phone is one of the most effective ways to ensure a peaceful weekend. While it is important to meet your friends for a social event every so often, sometimes all you want is to draw your curtains and spend the day in your pajamas binge watching your favorite TV shows. Switching off your phone will mean that it is not ringing incessantly as your friends try and get you to join them at your favorite meeting place.
2. Take the kids to grandpa and grandma’s. Many grandparents will be willing to take the kids off your hands so that you can get much needed rest and recuperation especially if you are a working parent. They get to enjoy time with their beloved grandchildren, your children get to take a break from their normal routine and you get a peaceful house all to yourself which is a win –win for everyone involved.

3.Treat yourself to a spa treatment. There is nothing as relaxing as getting yourself pampered with deep tissue massages, facials, exfoliating treatments and many others. If you are a bit strapped for cash, you can also indulge in several home spa treatments such as a scalp massage, hair deep conditioning, an aromatherapy bath and many others.

4. Wine and dine. Take the time to prepare a nice meal for you and your partner (if you have one) to enjoy. Uncork the good wine and enjoy a glass or two of your favorite beverage. If cooking on a free weekend does not appeal to you, then book a table at your favorite restaurant and order your favorite meal.

There are several things you can do to ensure you have a peaceful and relaxing weekend. Switching off your mobile phone and logging off social media as well as taking your kids to their grandparents and scheduling a spa treatment are just a few of these. Ensure that you schedule me time on a regular basis in order that most of your weekends are peaceful and relaxing.

  1. This sounds like an amazing weekend. I got a rare chance to do a few of these this weekend and I definitely feel recharged now. I was able to drop the kid off at G-ma’s spend time with my honey, turn off my phone and go out to dinner. I think these are sooo vital for keeping your sanity! Great post!

  2. Turning off the mobile is one of the challenges, but so need to get away. It’s awesome and important to have a downtime weekend. I schedule one day per month as my pamper day, where I do pampering activities just for me:).
